Garrett's 15th Celebration

We started Garrett's birthday celebration by surprising him with a trip to ScooterZone.  He had mentioned to us several times that he wanted a custom scooter.  I thought to myself why???  What is wrong with your old scooter?  HA!  Well, I guess 15 year old boys like custom scooters. :)  Garrett was very cool when we shopped because teenagers never want you to know their excitement.  He was REALLY excited.  From there we went home to try it out.

It was only a matter of minutes and he was doing tricks!  He didn't want to get off the scooter all afternoon.

For dinner we promised him sushi.  We don't take him out for sushi often because he eats a lot!  Sushi isn't cheap. :)

We ended the evening with cheesecake.  He wouldn't let me make one because he and Justin had tried it out at Costco a couple of days before.  Garrett didn't want to take the chance that mine wouldn't turn out as good as the Costco one.  Oh well, I guess it saved me the effort.  I really can make cheesecake though.  Fun day!  I love that boy (who is now a young man)!

Happy 15th Birthday Garrett!

I never would have believed 15 years ago that time would go by so quickly!  I have been so blessed to be the mommy of this baby boy!  Both Kevin and I rejoice in the fact that Garrett's birth mom chose us to be her baby's parents.  We will always love her for trusting us with such a precious little life.
Garrett has stretched me beyond anything I could have ever imagined.  He has made me laugh so hard I have cried!  It has never been a dull day since the day I met him.  He is simply just the best!  I will never really understand how such a tiny little guy could grow as big as he is now!  He has always been very affectionate and never afraid to say "I love you Mommy."  He is still like that.  He is also thoughtful and very sentimental.  He has said that his saddest day would be to watch ET, The Tigger Movie and Old Yeller all on the same day.

He really hasn't ever had a choice about football.  He never has really argued it either.   He has been a natural athlete from the very beginning.  Garrett Ronald Greer, God showed us favor when you were born.  We are so blessed to have you as our son!  We love you!

Spring Break Beach Day

Sunny day, warm temperatures of about 78 degrees and spring break at the beach!  What more could I ask for?!  So weird that Garrett and Morgan don't play in the sand with their buckets much any more.  They are becoming such teenagers wanting to get a tan and laying out.  Morgan even decided after watching Soul Surfer the movie, that she wants to learn how to surf!   Unfortunately, spring breaks are on different dates for the different schools so Justin wasn't able to come and we had to get back early to pick him up.

Hike

We went on a hike up to the waterfall yesterday with some good friends.  It was a pretty easy hike, not too far.  I got so nervous at the top because the rocks were steep and could be a big fall if someone slipped.  I usually don't worry so much but there was no phone reception and it would be a very long time for an ambulance!  Garrett is my risk taker!  Some of the kids went for a swim in the pool at the top.
