New Glasses

Here is Garrett sporting his new reading glasses.  Now he can be a jock and an intellect!  Ha!  I told him the glasses have magical powers...They will give him the desire to study harder and see better!

Justin got some transitional lenses this time so he isn't blinded by the sun.  He has to wear them full time.

Morgan and Halley Snuggling

Morgan was watching a movie.  Halley thinks she should be on someones lap in the evenings snuggling.  She is getting kind of big to be a lap dog but she doesn't know that.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day is always special when the kids make their homemade cards.  I just love them.  Morgan and Justin decided to do something extra special.  They made made Kevin and I a story book which Justin did most of the writing (Morgan helped) and Morgan did the illustrating.  Morgan even hand sewed the binding of the book. It was very professional.  Garrett made me a beautiful card.  He would be horrified if I posted it so I won't.  I don't want him to stop making them so I am not going to make it public.  (He wrote mushing stuff in it. :)

A Vacation of a Lifetime! "Denver at Aunt Ronnies House"

Sunday we drove back to Denver and stay at my sister Ronnette's house. Monday it was 11 below zero not counting the wind chill factor. They called it snow flurries.  I called it snow and cold weather!  We made it a day to make homemade pasta, yeast rolls and homemade spaghetti sauce.  We enjoyed the smells and the warmth of the house!  Burrrr!!!
My sister Ronnette was so generous on this trip.  She also is a fantastic hostess!  We are certainly blessed with a generous family!  My parents and my other sister Susan took care of our dogs for us while we were gone.  It was so nice not to have to send them to a kennel.  My parents were also very generous in sending us off with some spending money!  Can you believe this vacation?????!!!!  We will have many memories for many, many years to come!  Have I told you how much I love my family!!!!

A Vacation of Lifetime! "Sledding in a Horse Drawn Sled"

I would have to say this was my favorite highlight of the week!  This was such an amazing ride through the beautiful white fields of snow! It was just breath taking. We stopped halfway for a photo shoot and some hot chocolate.  Uncle Hal had a friend who owns the carriage company.  He kindly took us out on this memorable ride.

A Vacation of a Lifetime! "Taco Night"

We all thought we needed to cook in this gorgeous kitchen!  Uncle Hal made us tacos for dinner one night.  I would say food was our biggest expense of the week.  Let's just say groceries in Aspen are at least 3 times more expensive than your average grocery store!  (Still cheaper than eating out)

A Vacation of a Lifetime! "Morgan's first time Skiing"

Morgan decided that she wanted to learn to ski.  We signed her up for a lesson and off she went.  She did great!  She skied the whole day.  She even made it to an intermediate run.  Larry said she was a natural!

This was also the day Garrett went out snowboarding.  He had a lesson two years ago and decided he wanted to give it a try without another lesson.  Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of Garrett because he was nowhere to be found.  He and Kevin went off together.  Garrett was bragging that he thought he could ski faster than Kevin and me so he decided to take an intermediate run after only one lesson two years previously.  I think he would agree that, that was a mistake!  He ended up cartwheeling down the hill ending in a face plant!  He chipped his front teeth and nearly broke his nose.  Probably not his best plan of the day. Needless to say, his day ended early.  Poor guy!

A Vacation of A Lifetime! "X-Games"

Trust me on this one...The X-Games are a lot warmer when you watch them on T.V.!  We had fun watching the half pipe skiing and the snowmobiles.  It was freezing!!!!

A Vacation of a Lifetime! "Skiing after ten years"

Yep, Kevin and I still have it!!!  Ten years and we could still ski.  Thank goodness for new technology!  LOL!  Kevin was better than me because I fell off the chairlift every time I tried to get off.  It was so embarrassing.  They had to stop the chair and help me up.  Other than that I didn't fall.  I was skiing intermediate the whole day.  I was quite proud of myself.  Uncle Hal was able to do it again...He got us medallions to use for ski passes.  A friend of his loaned them to us and we got to ski for free!  Can you believe this vacation???

A Vacation of a Lifetime! "Sledding"

Sledding was Justin's day.  This was his favorite time of the week.  He rode his sled down the hill over and over again!  Uncle Hal knew the perfect place!
