Dad's 1920 Model "T" Ford

I spent the weekend in Redondo Beach and my dad had his Model "T" out for ride.  The kids always enjoy having their picture taken in it.

Get Away Weekend in Ventura

Last weekend I got to go to Ventura on a ladies get away.  I had a really great time!  I really didn't know any of the ladies except Christine who invited me.  Some had adopted from Ukraine.  It was interesting to share stories.    All of the ladies were fun to get to know.  On Saturday night everyone wore costumes to dinner.  That was really fun!

Morning Exercises

P.E. is a required home school subject.  In the past, I would count playing outside on scooters, trampoline and bikes as p.e.; however, now I require real exercise.  I have been seeing the benefits of building mental strength as well as physical.  It started as a discipline that has turned into a fun challenge.  Every morning now Justin gets up and runs  laps around the backyard.   Garrett and Morgan have been running track so I don't make them do as much at home.  Today Garrett decided he wanted to compete with Justin on his run because he is off for the rest of the week from track.  Justin did great!  He ran a steady pace and held his own.  Garrett is so competitive that he could barely stand the fact that Justin kept up!  I love the fact that they can now compete with each other like brothers should.  I think it gave Justin a lot of confidence that he could now run and keep up with his older brother.   He has played a big part in coaching Justin so he could get into shape.  Justin has never seen muscle tone in his body until now.   He is so proud that he is finally able to see his muscles!
Garrett says Justin is a "BEAST!!!"

A Boy and His Dog

Justin finished up school early today, so he asked if he could play in the pool with his ship and octopus.  I filled up the little pool earlier today for Halley to play in.  Halley didn't know what to think of the octopus???  She wasn't going to go near the water now!   She just hung out with Justin and watched.

Mothers and Daugters Tea

Morgan and I were invited to a Mother, Daughter, Home school Tea.  My friend April hosted the tea and what a great job she did!  She has such a gift in baking and hosting parties.  She spent three straight days preparing for the special day.  The girls did the serving which was very sweet and helped make the last minute preparations for the food.

This is April with cute little sucker cookies she made for each girl.

Morgan and I were excited to be part of this day.  Thank you April!

Track & Field Season

The track & field season started!  Yesterday was Garrett and Morgan's first track meet.  They both seem to enjoy the "field" part better than the track.  Garrett loves throwing the discus and shot put, Morgan enjoys the long jump and triple jump.  Garrett placed first in both of his events with a discus throw of 85.5' and a shot put throw of 35.8'.  Morgan came in 8th in the long jump.  Can't wait to see how much they improve by the end of the season.   Garrett is being coached for discus by a gold metal winner in the Olympics.  Garrett improved by 15 feet from his last year's best!

Redondo Beach Fundraiser

My brother-in-law Jeff invited us to a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for his work.  We had fun time and enjoyed the delicious food!
