Cambria

We had a family weekend in Cambria planned over Labor Day weekend and then sickness hit our house!  Kevin was down for the count with Bronchitis.  So we changed the plan and Morgan and I decided to make it a girls weekend.  We left Garrett and Justin home  to keep Kevin from resting  to care for Kevin.  Had I known how sick he actually was I probably would have reconsidered.  I caught it a couple of weeks later and it wasn't fun!  Morgan and I stopped in Simi Valley to visit with some of our old friends, the Lucas'.  Last minute Kirsten and Tatum decided to come along with us. We had a blast being spontaneous!

Papa loves to drive the kids around the neighborhood in his Model T and introduce them to all of his friends.

Dad, Mom and Misty enter the Cambria Labor Day parade every year.

Cooking

A couple of the things I am teaching Morgan this school year is baking and cooking.  She especially loves to bake just like her Mom.  She loves the creativity of baking.  She made these cupcakes for youth group.  I must say they were a big hit with the kids!

First Days of School

The Kids started school  and we haven't stopped running ever since!  At least that is my excuse for not blogging in a few months.
Garrett started 9th grade high school.  I can't believe the time has come already.  He was just a little tiny guy it seems just yesterday.
Justin started 5th grade.  He started out going to school and after a few weeks we realized it would be better for him to be here at home with Morgan and me.  He is much happier.

Morgan is in the 8th grade.  She continues to home school.  I love having her here and she loves being here.  I think she is happy Justin is home with us now too.  We are looking forward to learning many new things together this year.  I really appreciate home schooling all the more  realizing how quick the years fly by.  I miss Garrett being home with us so much.  He is enjoying playing football and is adjusting to high school.  His first progress report showed he was doing well in all his classes.

A shocking Award Winning Documentary-180

Tomorrow a new movie is being released call 180.  It is a shocking award winning documentary on abortion This movie has the potential to save millions of unborn babies around the world!  The following is an word from Ray Comfort: regarding the movie:

- Abortion is a massive money-making opportunity for those who are willing to kill millions of children each year at a rate of about one child every 27 seconds – (world-wide, a child is killed every second!) We know it’s going to be a very real battle—pro-abortion forces across the globe have already begun to come against us and “180” – but this issue is a hill to die on! We must do everything we can to stop this terrible holocaust. No doubt many good Germans, who spoke up for the Jews in the 2nd World War, lost their lives doing so. We have no such fear in this country, particularly if we let this video speak up for us. Together, we can turn the tide in the fight against abortion and end this American holocaust!

Please watch the 180 movie.   You can also view the move here on you tube now.   Lets unite and  fight abortion  together!  If you can help spread the word on your blog please attach the following link to your blog.  180movie.com

Morgan's 13th Birthday Party!

Morgan had an evening party because that is what "older" girls do and she wanted to use the lights from the wedding we had last week.  Firstly they started off the evening swimming.  I didn't get pictures of the swimming because I was busy in the kitchen making homemade pizza.  Unfortunately, the girls found swimming to be a bit cold because there was a wind swooping through.  After eating pizza, the girls watched Morgan open her gifts.

Morgan had a special guest come to her party.  It was her disciple group leader from church, Katie.  Katie spent a few minutes talking with the girls about purity and godliness and the blessings that follow.  It was  wonderful.  The girls ate their homemade chocolate ice cream while Katie spoke.  I love having so many wonderful examples of godliness in my daughter's life.

The girls enjoyed a bond fire.  They roasted marshmallows for smores.   The evening ended after a game of flashlight tag.
